Team Description & Purpose of Role
Ensures the correct functioning of datacenter infrastructure and customer hosting solutions in order to deliver industry leading service availability, security and timely service provisioning, in accordance with internal standards.
Operate the centrally managed infrastructure for all European datacenters to support the company’s cost optimization goals
Responsibilties
- Manages customer hosting solutions, as defined by agreed SLAs, in all European datacenters
- Operates, maintains, and upgrades standard infrastructure for all datacenters, including backup, software installation, software update, and anti-virus systems
- Works with First Line Hosting team to release new services for 24x7 operations
- Assists sales team in designing and implementing customer solutions
- Performs occasional “out of hours” maintenance on both customer and datacenter equipment
- Produces, manages, and maintains documents and records of all customer elements inside the European datacenters
- Adheres to internal security policies and report incidents to the appropriate operations functions
- Assures the security of hosting solutions, and protecting the data of our customers
- Supports ISO 27001 and equivalent certification requirements where necessary
- Applies ITIL methodology to the role
- Improves hosting operational processes and procedures when needed as part of our Continual Process Improvement (CPI)
- Operating Systems & Disk Management responsibilities: Provides in-depth
- Mentor, play the role of a change agent and provide the guidance to the other members of the team to help them grow in their SAN/Storage, NAS, Netbackup, technical skills.
- Defining Storage and Backup Standards and best Practices and implementing them as engineered bundled solutions using native and other automation tools.
- Design, implement, and operates Backup and Storage solution to scale out tool set and process efficiencies to meet our customer domains.
- Work with internal applications teams to review new applications and define requirements and standards to be introduced into production.
- Use best practices to provision storage (Volumes/ LUNs) from the storage array through the fabric to the host.
- Use best practices to complete backup and restores from tape li9braries / Disks to Hosts.
Requirements
- Fluent English, No Czech Language required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field of study.
- 4 Years plus experience with Backup and/or Restore Solutions & storage Area Network (SAN) including fibre channels Directors/ Switched (Brocade and CISCO)
Experience with the following an advantage:
- NetApp
- UNIX (Redhat, Solaris)
- Windows 2003 & 2008
- Cisco Switching and routing
- LAN / WAN architecture
- Firewalls (Cisco and Checkpoint)
- Virtualization technology (VMware)
